PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Bergstrom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brand Pound (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bergstrom turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Bergstrom doesn't manage to clinch there - Pound circles away.

Pound is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

That was a close round but I would say that Marcus Bergstrom will probably get the nod.
That's time! Bergstrom's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Pound moves out of range of the body kick.
Bergstrom tries to clinch up but Pound circles away and keeps his distance.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pound's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bergstrom bucks up and tries to throw Pound off but instead Pound has got his back!

Brand Pound showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

and Pound counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bergstrom's guard now.

Pound is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Bergstrom has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Pound is looking to defend but Bergstrom has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Pound! Bergstrom pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Pound taps out and this one is all over!
