The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wayland tries to score a power double leg takedown but Masaomi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wayland somewhat.

Masaomi drops back looking for a leg! Wayland is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Wayland manages to kick Masaomi off! Masaomi jumps back into Wayland's guard.

Masaomi is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Wayland working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Masaomi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Masaomi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Masaomi got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wayland has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Masaomi has managed to get both his arms back between Wayland's legs - danger averted.

Masaomi has hold of Wayland's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Wayland manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Masaomi is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Wayland is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Wayland flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Masaomi anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Wayland and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Masaomi slips an arm under Wayland chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Masaomi has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Masaomi is squeezing on Wayland like an anaconda would it's prey. Wayland fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
