Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Michael Shin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cross Lavi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael Shin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Cross Lavi!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Lavi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Shin scores with a jab to the jaw.

Shin fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Lavi on the side of the head.

Lavi misses with a takedown attempt - Shin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Lavi takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Lavi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Shin's waist but Shin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lavi off to one side.

The fighters circle momentarily. Shin darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

The crowd cheers as Shin lands an impressive looking overhand right. Lavi doesn't seem phased though.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Lavi scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Shin is trying to get back to his feet.

Lavi is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Shin knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Lavi wants to control but Shin is keeping him busy.

Shin clobbers Lavi with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Cross Lavi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Shin ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Lavi takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Lavi closes the distance and clinches up with Shin, looking for a takedown. Lavi pushes Shin against the cage but Shin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Shin lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Lavi feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shin can't keep his opponent in guard - Lavi advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Lavi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Shin keeps working.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Lavi takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Shin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Shin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
