PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Male Stripper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Kelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Male Stripper has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Male Stripper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Kelly!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stripper lands a nice shot that snaps Kelly's head back.
Stripper connects with a high kick.

Kelly feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Kelly drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Stripper manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kelly has Stripper in his guard.

Stripper knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kelly on the ground.
Stripper stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kelly swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stripper is working hard here to advance position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Stripper throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Stripper fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kelly shoots in and drives through. Stripper sprawls well.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Stripper keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Stripper misses with a hook. Kelly ducked under it nicely.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Stripper misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Male Stripper dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Kelly tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Stripper swivels and escapes.

Nice takedown defense from Stripper. No joy for Kelly on that attempt.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stripper throws a head kick that Kelly semi-blocks.

Stripper bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kelly's head.
Kelly takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Stripper misses with a few strikes there.
Stripper lands a jab.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kelly tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Stripper swivels and escapes.
Male Stripper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Josh Kelly.
Kelly misses with a takedown attempt - Stripper sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Stripper pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Stripper tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Stripper scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Kelly ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Male Stripper is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kelly takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Stripper scores with a nice right hand.

Stripper moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Stripper scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Stripper fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Stripper throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kelly stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Stripper pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kelly avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kelly throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stripper's waist but Stripper gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kelly off to one side.
Stripper throws a good cross that connects.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kelly shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Kelly shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Stripper napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Kelly is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Stripper knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Stripper is looking to reverse the position.

Kelly tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kelly has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Kelly takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
You can see the frustration on Stripper's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Kelly tries for a kimura but Stripper is defending well.
Josh Kelly has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kelly moves into full mount!

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Josh Kelly.
I think Stripper has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
