The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Straw Hat jabs Valchek right on the nose. Valchek blinks but takes it well.
Valchek looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Straw Hat cracks Valchek with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Straw Hat shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Straw Hat not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Straw Hat in particular looking to stall.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Valchek is refusing to be controlled, as Straw Hat sits in half guard.

Straw Hat looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Straw Hat working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Straw Hat maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Valchek could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Straw Hat has cracked it and Valchek is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Straw Hat!
