Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lande Paukku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Thastrom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paukku comes into the arena with A Country Boy Can Survive blaring out of the sound system. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Thastrom has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Paukku can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Thastrom escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Paukku gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Thastrom is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Paukku's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Paukku's back!

Paukku is fighting to break Thastrom's control of his arms but Thastrom is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Thastrom tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Paukku swivels and escapes.
Paukku takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Oh Paukku is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Thastrom has hold of one of Paukku's legs. Paukku is fighting the takedown attempt but Thastrom gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Thastrom is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Thastrom drops back looking for a leg! Paukku is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Paukku manages to kick Thastrom off! Thastrom jumps back into Paukku's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Lande Paukku will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

A big strike lands for Paukku! That's really hurt Thastrom and he's turned his back - Paukku keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Paukku Jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
