The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sannon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Matthews.
Sannon shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Matthews looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Sannon is trying to control the action in half guard but Matthews is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Matthews has hold of Sannon's hands but Sannon slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Sannon throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Sannon is looking to advance position but Matthews won't allow it.
Sannon is trying to control. Matthews wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Sannon tries a head kick but it misses.
Sannon closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Matthews did well to prevent Sannon getting side control.
Sannon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Matthews. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Matthews slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Sannon looks gassed!
Sannon postures up in Matthews's guard and throws a big left but Matthews blocks it.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Matthews is on top in guard.
Matthews pushes down on Sannon's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Matthews is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Matthews looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Matthews jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Sannon manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Matthews is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Sannon looks calm but he's in trouble here. Matthews gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Sannon is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Matthews lets go of the hold and Sannon can pop his arm back in it's socket.
