Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between wayne brook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James york (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James york will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
brook fails with an attempt to clinch.
york closes this distance looking for a takedown but brook circles away.
brook tries to clinch but york moves out of range.

brook closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
york goes for a takedown in the clinch but brook prevents it.

brook's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
york fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

york is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

brook stands and steps away. york gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

brook jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… york is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by york and brook has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
york tries to work over brook's front leg with a kick but brook checks it.

brook tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no brook has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

york gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows brook to score an easy takedown into full guard.
york has a closed guard, preventing brook from standing up.

brook drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but york manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now brook has york in his guard.

york in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as brook holds on and takes a little breather.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as york accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

brook has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but york can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

york thows an elbow strike that misses. brook gets hold of full guard and has managed to get a loose guillotine attempt. york doesn't seem too bothered but brook quickly shifts his position and has tightened the hold! york is in big trouble now - he's going a funny colour - he's tapping out! Nice finish there! york really should have spotted the danger earlier though... either incompetence or over-confidence has resulted in a big L on his record.
