PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Volg Zangief (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Los Angeles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Alexander Volg Zangief has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Alexander Volg Zangief seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zangief misses with a takedown attempt - Angeles sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Zangief shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Angeles as he jumps to the side.

and Angeles counters with a series of strikes. Zangief will be more careful next time no doubt.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Angeles looking to sit in guard and control but Zangief gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Angeles is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Zangief is controlling him.

Zangief is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Zangief will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Angeles has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Zangief is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Angeles.
