Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pelayo Palhares!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Bread, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bread scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


It looks like Pelayo Palhares has been cut.
Nice takedown defense from Bread. No joy for Palhares on that attempt.
Bread misses with a two punch combination.
Bread swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bread misses with a few strikes there.
Bread misses with a double jab.

Palhares shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Palhares thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Bread will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Palhares drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Palhares jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Palhares slips nicely into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bread won't allow Palhares to pass to mount.
Bread tries to roll over but Palhares keeps him under control.
Palhares prevents Bread from standing back up.
Palhares is looking to advance position but Bread won't allow it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Palhares seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bread does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Palhares works his foot free and advances to mount.

Palhares working for a submission but Bread is keeping him at bay.
Palhares controlling the position easily from mount.

Bread wants to hold on but Palhares pushes him away.

Palhares looking for a guillotine from mount but Bread is having none of it.
Palhares seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Bread is holding on tight.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Palhares controlling his opponent.

Palhares working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Bread turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Palhares off and cradles Bread's limp body as Palhares celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Pelayo Palhares!
