Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Robin Padilla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Angell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Robin Padilla!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brandon Angell!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Padilla fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Padilla is looking to clinch but Angell is avoiding it.

Angell moves into the clinch.

Padilla pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Padilla tries to clinch

and Angell counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Angell trying to control the position from guard on top but Padilla is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Padilla knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Angell on the ground.
Angell is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Padilla is looking for a triangle but Angell pushes his legs off easily.
Angell controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Padilla trying to control the position.

Angell slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Angell gets to his feet. Padilla looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Angell looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Angell decides to stand and escape the position.
Angell throws a nice looking combination but Padilla bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Padilla swings away with a body shot that misses

and Angell counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Padilla's guard now.

Angell sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Padilla not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Padilla looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Angell decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Padilla, up you get!

and Angell counters with a single leg into guard. Padilla didn't expect that.
Angell looks gassed!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Angell thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Angell accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Padilla controls Angell momentarily but Angell frees himself.
Padilla keeping moving, preventing Angell from controlling successfully.
Padilla wants to stand but Angell is controlling the position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Angell wants to stand but Padilla is controlling his posture from full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Padilla wants to clinch but Angell slips to the side

and Angell counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Angell stops Padilla from standing up.
Padilla is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Padilla decides to stand and escape the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Angell leaves Padilla with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brandon Angell dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Angell gets a takedown into half guard.
Angell wants to lay and pray for a moment but Padilla keeps working.

Angell is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Padilla is trying to maintain the position but Angell is very close to passing his half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Padilla keeping hold of Angell's head, controlling as best he can.
Angell uses his free foot to push down on Padilla's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Padilla.
Padilla tries to get back to half guard but can't.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Angell sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Angell trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Angell controlling the pace for now.
Angell looking to control but Padilla is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Padilla is in all sorts of trouble here.
Padilla tries to hold on but Angell postures up.

Padilla defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Angell.
Padilla tries to reverse the position but Angell maintains control.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Padilla is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
A nice elbow there by Angell.
Padilla is desperately trying to improve his position but Angell has a good base and remains in mount.
Padilla wants to hold on but Angell pushes him away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brandon Angell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Padilla tries to clinch there but Angell circles away.
Angell uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Padilla.
Padilla throws a combination. Angell tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Padilla clinches but Angell breaks the clinch

and Angell counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Angell.

Padilla is working an open guard so Angell takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Padilla throws a series of punches but Angell avoids them all with ease.

and Angell counters with a takedown into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Angell in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Angell is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Padilla is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Padilla is looking for a sweep.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Angell looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Padilla is avoiding damage well.
Angell tries to move into full mount but can't pass Padilla's legs.

Angell has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Padilla wants to clinch but Angell slips to the side

and Angell counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Angell is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Angell wants to control from the top but Padilla keeps moving.

Padilla is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Angell is controlling him.
Brandon Angell has got the better of the ground game so far.
Padilla is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Angell drops back looking for a leg! Padilla is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Padilla manages to kick Angell off! Angell jumps back into Padilla's guard.

Brandon Angell comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Angell winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
