Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vlad Kovban! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Charles Thatcher! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Igor Prikhodko.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kovban tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Thatcher paws at him with a jab and circles away. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Kovban tries to clinch there but Thatcher circles away.
Thatcher lands with a kick to the temple. Kovban shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" A head kick misses from Kovban. The fight stays on the outside here - Thatcher looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Thatcher fails in his attempt to clinch. Charles Thatcher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Thatcher is looking to clinch. A head kick misses from Thatcher. Kovban is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Thatcher closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Thatcher lands in his opponent's guard.
Kovban is looking for a triangle but Thatcher pushes his legs off easily.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Thatcher looking to pass the guard. Thatcher stops Kovban from standing up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thatcher got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kovban has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Thatcher has managed to get both his arms back between Kovban's legs - danger averted.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kovban looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Thatcher passes into half guard.
Kovban is breathing heavily. Thatcher is controlling the pace.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Thatcher wants to free his trapped foot but Kovban is holding on for dear life with his legs. Kovban is trying to stand up here but Thatcher is controlling him well.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Thatcher not doing much here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Charles Thatcher dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Thatcher. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kovban is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Thatcher's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Thatcher takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Kovban actively working from the bottom here. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Thatcher controlling the action here.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Kovban tries to kick Thatcher off in order to stand up. Thatcher Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Thatcher slows the pace down.
 That's three minutes gone in the round.
 Despite being in the dominant position, Charles Thatcher just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Kovban on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Kovban tries to clinch but Thatcher is having none of it.
Thatcher looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Kovban! Thatcher controlling the pace for now.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Kovban tries to control the position but Thatcher now has his back.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Thatcher controls the action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Charles Thatcher showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Kovban's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Thatcher doesn't manage to clinch there - Kovban circles away.

 That's one minute gone in the round. Kovban tries to hold on but Thatcher postures up. Kovban has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Thatcher has good solid back control here. I really don't envy Kovban right now.
Charles Thatcher is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Kovban is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Thatcher's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. You can see the frustration on Kovban's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Thatcher trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Kovban doesn't escape.
And that's the end of the fight! Charles Thatcher comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Thatcher has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
