Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Luiz Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spider Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Edson Gomes and Felipe Paraventi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Souza.
Silva tries to clinch but Souza moves out of range.

Souza shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Souza lands with a punch from half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Souza in particular looking to stall.
Souza seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Silva for as long as he can get away with.
Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Souza. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Souza passes the guard and advances to mount!

Silva tries to reverse the position but Souza maintains control.
