Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jack Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tate has chosen Diamonds Aren't Forever as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brandon Tate! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tate comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Johnson throws a right and a left that both miss. Johnson dives in and grabs Tate's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tate pushes down on Johnson's head and hops out. Tate throws a nice inside leg kick. A cross from Johnson lands. Johnson looks to score with a jab to the body but Tate is just out of range. Tate forces Johnson back against the cage and clinches. Johnson looks to throw an elbow but misses. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Johnson just misses with a elbow thrown towards Tate's brow. Johnson misses with a knee to the head. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Tate takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Johnson takes an elbow to the forehead. Tate creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Come on Tate - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Johnson pushes off an throws an elbow but Tate leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Tate on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Johnson misses with a knee to the head. Tate pressing his opponent against the cage. Johnson landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Johnson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Tate walks away with a smile on his face. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Johnson takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Johnson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. A head kick misses from Tate. Johnson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Johnson dodges the punch combination from Tate.
Tate cracks Johnson with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Johnson throws a lazy head kick and Tate counters with a slapping leg kick. Tate clobbers Johnson with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Tate tests Johnson's chin there with a solid looking shot. Tate is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Johnson takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Tate scoring well with a low kick there.
Jack Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johnson wants to clinch and Tate makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Johnson throws the left hand but Tate avoids the punch easily. An inside leg kick lands from Tate. Johnson is breathing heavily. Tate has taken the fight to the clinch.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tate avoids the elbow strike from Johnson, against the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Tate controlling the action here for a moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Tate lands an elbow that stopped Johnson in his tracks for a moment. Johnson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Tate taking a breather. Johnson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Tate is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Nice elbow from Tate. Tate lands an elbow inside that Johnson shrugs off. A quick uppercut on the inside from Tate. Johnson jumps guard but Tate stands there with Johnson around his waist. Johnson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Tate lands an elbow inside that Johnson shrugs off. A nice glancing elbow lands by Johnson. A knee to the head by Tate.
Tate pressing his opponent against the cage. Johnson with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Johnson takes an elbow to the temple. Johnson's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Tate lands a nice uppercut. Tate works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Tate displaying some good clinch control by pressing Johnson up against the cage. Tate lands an elbow inside.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tate lands an elbow inside that Johnson shrugs off. Tate is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Johnson is trying to drag Tate to the mat but Tate just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Tate avoids the elbow strike from Johnson, against the cage.
The referee is keeping an eye on Tate - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Tate scores with a hook to the body. Tate putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Johnson in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Tate takes a knee right on the jaw!

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Tate takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Brandon Tate. Tate slips a jab from Johnson. Tate scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Johnson doesn't seem bothered though. Johnson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Tate scores with a punch to the head. Tate moves into the clinch. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Tate lands with a short shot to the head. Tate leaning his opponent against the cage. A short uppercut from Tate. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Tate stalling.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Johnson is trying to break the clinch but Tate is controlling him. Tate lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Johnson backwards. Johnson lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brandon Tate dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

The fighters circling - Johnson throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Tate lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Tate circles away from the clinch attempt and Tate counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Johnson throws a knee to the head but misses.

Johnson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Tate walks away with a smile on his face. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Johnson throws a jab when Tate was well out of range. Tate throws a combination. Johnson tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Tate defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Johnson. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tate scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Tate delivers a nice body kick. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Tate.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Tate with a hook. A solid leg kick lands there for Tate.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tate scores with a one two! Johnson had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. A slapping leg kick lands for Tate.
Tate lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. A decent looking cross lands there for Tate. Tate throws a combination. Johnson tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Johnson is rocked! Tate lands with a right and another and another! Johnson is in big trouble! Tate lands again and this time it's lights out for Johnson! A quality knockout there for Tate.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Brandon Tate!
