The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanaka scores with a hook to the body. Fonseca takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
The fighters circling - Tanaka throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Fonseca stuffs the takedown.

Tanaka postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Fonseca is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Tanaka, into his guard.

Fonseca loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fonseca accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Tanaka working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fonseca doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Tanaka is tightening it up a little... Fonseca has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Fonseca reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Fonseca taps out! nice BJJ there by Tanaka!
