The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baiza shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kringle but Kringle pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Baiza tries for a takedown but Kringle sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Baiza fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kringle, pushing him back against the cage.
Kringle tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Kringle pulls Baiza into guard.

Kringle pushes Baiza off and scrambles back to his feet.
Kringle slaps away a takedown attempt from Baiza, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Elijah Baiza. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kringle tests Baiza's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Baiza takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

It looks like Elijah Baiza has been cut.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Baiza. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Baiza could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kringle connects with a nice looking jab.
Chris Kringle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kringle scores with a one two! Baiza had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Elijah Baiza's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Kringle lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Baiza at a distance.

Kringle misses with a body kick.
Kringle lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Baiza seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Kringle shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Baiza is backing up but Kringle catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Baiza covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Kringle Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
