Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josh JC (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gaston Chevarie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). JC comes into the arena with Smashmouth - Why Cant We Be Friends blaring out of the sound system. Gaston Chevarie will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh JC!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gaston Chevarie!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
JC shoots in and drives through. Chevarie sprawls well.
Chevarie looks to score with a jab to the body but JC is just out of range.
JC scores with a decent looking hook.
Chevarie throws a head kick that misses.
JC changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Chevarie tries to avoid it but JC manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Chevarie to the ground. Chevarie escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Chevarie misses with a straight right.
JC is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
It looks like Josh JC has been cut.
JC bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
JC postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
JC has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
JC is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Chevarie has escaped the position, nice work there.
JC throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

JC tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no JC has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Chevarie takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Chevarie is pushing JC's head away, looking to escape. JC manages to hold on to the position though.
JC throws a strike aimed at the side of Chevarie's head but Chevarie avoids it well.
Chevarie really doesn't want to stay on the ground with JC. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Chevarie wants to get back to his feet but JC drags him back down.
Chevarie is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

JC dives in and grabs Chevarie's left leg, looking for a takedown. Chevarie pushes down on JC's head and hops out.

Chevarie tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but JC was well out of range. Poor timing from Chevarie.
A jab from Chevarie finds it's way through JC's defenses.

Chevarie drops JC with a beautiful combination! JC stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Chevarie is looking for the KO!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
JC blocks a jab.
Oh JC is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Chevarie bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps JC's head backwards.
JC uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Chevarie.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
JC dodges the punch combination from Chevarie.
JC seems to have got his legs back now.
Chevarie stuns JC with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Chevarie keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gaston Chevarie dominated that round.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Chevarie looks to land a right hand but JC moved out of range.
Chevarie throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gaston Chevarie seems to be getting the better of the standup.
No luck with that takedown attempt from JC.

JC has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Chevarie can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

JC is trying to maintain the position but Chevarie is very close to passing his half guard.
Chevarie is keen to just control but JC is a slippery customer.
JC has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Chevarie is working away from the top position though.
