The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The referee asks Trueman politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Trueman prefers to stall for the moment though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Trueman cracks Sauna with a big right hand but Sauna just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Sauna really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Trueman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Trueman looks up at the clock and then as Sauna takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Trueman smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Trueman has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Sauna's face.

It looks like Shawn Sauna has been cut.
Trueman lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Trueman tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Trueman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Trueman seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sauna for as long as he can get away with.
