Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Paul Eiman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Midgard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyson Midgard is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Midgard throws a head kick that half lands.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Eiman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Eiman wants to get up but he can't break Midgard's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Eiman shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Midgard's guard.

Eiman postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Midgard is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Eiman, into his guard.

Eiman is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Midgard is aware though and is defending well.

Eiman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Midgard doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Midgard manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That was a close second round but I would say that John Paul Eiman will probably get the nod.

Midgard throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Eiman's head.
Midgard shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Eiman sprawls well. Eiman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Midgard gets slowly back to his feet.

Midgard throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Eiman was covering up waiting for the punch and Midgard finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Midgard drops back looking for a leg! Eiman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Eiman manages to kick Midgard off! Midgard jumps back into Eiman's guard.

Midgard not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Midgard drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Midgard jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Eiman wants to stand and escape but Midgard is having none of it.
