Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gattsu Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sun Wukong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emelianenko comes into the arena with Contender blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gattsu Emelianenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sun Wukong!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yuuki Gou and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emelianenko shoots in but no luck this time.
Emelianenko misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Wukong drives through and clinches with Emelianenko against the ropes.
Wukong misses with a knee strike.
Come on Wukong - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Emelianenko goes for a takedown attempt but Wukong pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Wukong moves in looking to clinch but Emelianenko pushes him off.
Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown but Wukong shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gattsu Emelianenko. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Emelianenko throws a series of punches but Wukong avoids them all with ease.
Gattsu Emelianenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Emelianenko checks a leg kick.
Wukong throws a half hearted mid kick.
Emelianenko takes a swing at Wukong's ribcage but misses.

Wukong tries to clinch up.
Emelianenko takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Wukong has taken the fight to the clinch.
Emelianenko tries for a takedown. No joy.
Wukong is pressed up against the ropes. Emelianenko has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Wukong down to the mat. Wukong avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Emelianenko wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Emelianenko lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Wukong circles away quickly and effectively.
Emelianenko stuns Wukong with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Wukong lands with a right hand.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Emelianenko looks to land a left hand but Wukong moved out of range nicely.

Wukong will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Wukong connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Emelianenko takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Emelianenko throws a combination that misses
and Wukong counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Emelianenko is breathing heavily.

Wukong has closed the distance and engaged Emelianenko in a clinch.
Emelianenko tries to score a body lock takedown but Wukong shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Wukong tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Stalling in the clinch from Wukong.
Emelianenko can't get the takedown.
Emelianenko jumps guard but Wukong stands there with Emelianenko around his waist. Emelianenko gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Wukong lands a nice knee to the body.

Wukong prevents a takedown attempt there.
Emelianenko tries to break the clinch but Wukong is controlling the position.
A battle for position here, against the ropes.
Emelianenko jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Wukong walks away with a smile on his face. Emelianenko gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Sun Wukong is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Emelianenko on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Wukong. Wukong obviously looking to wear him down.
Emelianenko throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Some bone on bone action there as Emelianenko checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Horrible takedown by Emelianenko or perhaps it was just good defense by Wukong which made him look bad.

Wukong closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Emelianenko tries to pull guard but Wukong holds him up against the ropes and eventually Emelianenko drops back down to his feet.
Wukong lands a good knee to the midsection. Emelianenko won't want to take too many of those.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sun Wukong dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Wukong throws a leg kick which misses Emelianenko's front leg but catches the back leg as Emelianenko tries to avoid it.
Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wukong as he avoids it easily.
Emelianenko checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Wukong swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Wukong is looking to clinch but Emelianenko is avoiding it.

Emelianenko wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Wukong has him pressed against the ropes.
Emelianenko drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Wukong gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Emelianenko goes for a takedown in the clinch but Wukong prevents it.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Emelianenko is trying to force a seperation but Wukong has the dominant position.
Emelianenko on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Emelianenko digs a right hand into Wukong's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Wukong's gas tank.

Wukong will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Emelianenko up against the ropes.

Emelianenko has Wukong pressed up against the ropes. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Emelianenko pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Wukong tumbling to the mat - Emelianenko dives into Wukong's guard.

Emelianenko has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Wukong looking to control.
Wukong is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Emelianenko is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Wukong wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Emelianenko is now in half guard.

Emelianenko misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Wukong is wriggling around trying to escape.
Emelianenko takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Wukong wants to hold on but Emelianenko pushes him away.

Wukong is desperately trying to improve his position but Emelianenko has a good base and remains in mount.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Wukong gets back to half guard.
Wukong preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Emelianenko wants to control but Wukong is keeping him busy.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Well, if Emelianenko is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Emelianenko seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wukong does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Sun Wukong will probably get the nod - 10:9.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Wukong uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Emelianenko.

Sun Wukong is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Emelianenko doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Wukong finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

and Wukong counters with a thumping low kick.
Sun Wukong seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Wukong tries to close the distance and clinch up but Emelianenko swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Wukong pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Wukong lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Emelianenko has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Emelianenko and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Wukong bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Wukong tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Emelianenko closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Wukong did well to prevent Emelianenko getting side control.
Wukong is trying to control but can't.
Wukong is controlling Emelianenko's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Gattsu Emelianenko has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Wukong is looking to control Emelianenko's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Wukong avoid being mounted?

Despite being in the dominant position, Sun Wukong just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Wukong takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Sun Wukong comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Wukong winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
