The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Righty misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Simpleton lands with a hook. Righty tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Simpleton's corner calls for a 1-2. Simpleton obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

and Simpleton counters with a nice double leg into side control. Righty won't be happy with that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Simpleton goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Righty rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Simpleton's guard! Nice work there by Righty!

Righty is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Simpleton still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Simpleton has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Simpleton had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Righty is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Simpleton Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Righty's back instead.

Simpleton has his arm under Righty's chin here. Game over son! Simpleton squeezes tightly and Righty is forced to tap out!
