PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stentorian Moss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Macho Martel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martel has chosen The Original Techno Viking as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Radbod Blank and Saam Ante.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martel looks for a takedown but Moss sprawls well.

Martel decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Moss is trying to stand.
Martel perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Moss pushes Martel off looking to stand but Martel dives back in and keeps control.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Moss is trying to stand up here but Martel is controlling him well.

Martel is looking to advance position but Moss won't allow it.

Moss trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Martel is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Martel takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Moss wants to get back to his feet.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Moss waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Martel.
Stentorian Moss is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Martel looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Martel shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Moss but Moss pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Stentorian Moss has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Macho Martel.
Martel uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Moss.

Moss throws the left hand but Martel avoids the punch easily.

Moss fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Moss swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Moss lands a jab to Martel's midsection.
Moss looks to land a combination but Martel avoids it well.
Moss throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Martel.

Martel tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Moss pushes Martel away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Martel gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Martel controls the position.
Moss is not content to let Martel control the position.
Moss wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Martel looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Moss is avoiding damage well.
Moss is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Martel is controlling him well.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Martel will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Moss swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Martel throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Moss's waist but Moss gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Martel off to one side.
Moss throws a nice looking combination but Martel bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Moss digs a good body shot into Martel's ribs.
Moss fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Moss drops Martel with a beautiful combination! Martel stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Moss is looking for the KO!

Martel is rocked!
Martel is breathing heavily.
Moss throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Moss throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Moss throws a nice looking combination but Martel bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Moss throws a body punch but Martel moves out of range.
Moss lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Martel circles away quickly and effectively.
Moss is looking to wear down Martel with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Martel slips a jab and a cross from Moss.
Moss throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Martel tries to move into range but Moss moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

That has opened up Macho Martel's cut even more.
Martel drops his hands momentarily and Moss takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Moss lands a nice looking body shot.
No luck for Martel with that takedown attempt.
Moss fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Martel dodges the punch combination from Moss.
Martel fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Moss checks it well.

Moss changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Moss misses with a wild combination.
Moss lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Martel circles away quickly and effectively.
Martel tries to score a power double leg takedown but Moss sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Martel somewhat.
Stentorian Moss has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Macho Martel.
Moss throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Stentorian Moss is winning the standup battle so far.
Moss misses with a few strikes there.

Moss swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Moss tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Moss fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Martel manages to avoid it.
Martel shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Moss sprawls well. Moss wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Martel gets slowly back to his feet.
Moss lands a jab-cross combination.
Moss connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

The cut above Macho Martel's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Moss swings for the body but Martel moves out of range.
Moss throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Martel stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Nice uppercut lands for Moss. That snapped Martel's head back.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Moss fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Martel manages to avoid it.
Martel has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Moss lands a left and a right that send Martel crashing to the mat, dazed. Moss thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Martel is still on wobbly legs! Can Moss finish him?

Macho Martel's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Moss drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Martel right on the button. Martel goes down! Moss follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Moss gets the win via TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Stentorian Moss!
