Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jaakko Pelle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brian Cote will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jaakko Pelle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Brian Cote!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pelle slips a jab and a cross from Cote.
Pelle closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cote circles away.

Pelle has managed to clinch.
Pelle really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Cote wants a takedown.

Pelle gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Pelle is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Pelle thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Pelle will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Cote is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Pelle is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Cote has managed to free his arm - good work.

Cote has one foot on Pelle's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Pelle feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Cote is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Cote is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Pelle is controlling him.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Cote throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Pelle works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Pelle trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Cote looks to land a combination but Pelle avoids it well.
Pelle fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Pelle goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Cote is on top in guard.

Pelle scrambles and gets back to his feet.
The fighters circling - Cote throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
A combination from Cote does no damage.

Pelle shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Cote is trying to maintain the position but Pelle is very close to passing his half guard.
Pelle thows a huge punch but Cote dodges it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pelle is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Cote is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Cote has escaped and now he's on top!

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Pelle pushes Cote away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Cote gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Cote tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cote has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Cote tries to advance to mount but Pelle instead regains half guard.

Pelle kicks off Cote and gets to his feet.
Cote lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Pelle will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Cote has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Cote is looking to break free of the clinch but Pelle has double underhooks.

Pelle has hold of one of Cote's legs. Cote is fighting the takedown attempt but Pelle gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Cote is looking to stand up but Pelle isn't so interested in that idea.

Pelle is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Cote working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pelle doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pelle manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Brian Cote showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Cote is looking to sinch up a triangle. Pelle throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Cote's body to avoid the submission. Cote has instead reached around Pelle's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Cote arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Brian Cote!
