Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Fernando chavez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wesley Daniels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniels has chosen no lloren por mi as his entrance music. Fernando chavez could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Wesley Daniels's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daniels looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
chavez dodges the punch combination from Daniels.

Daniels shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches chavez napping and manages to drive through into side control!
chavez is looking for a sweep.
chavez is working hard here to advance position.
Daniels lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear chavez down.
chavez is trying to get back to half guard.
Daniels looks up at the clock and then as chavez takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Daniels smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

chavez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

chavez is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

chavez tries to lock up and control but Daniels gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The referee warns chavez that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Daniels swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and chavez is now in Daniels's guard. A big mistake from Daniels there, giving up the dominant position!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Daniels can do anything to dispel that myth.
chavez would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

chavez is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Daniels is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Daniels has escaped and now he's on top!

Wesley Daniels showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

and Daniels makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Daniels pivots, looking for a leg kick but chavez is out of range and Daniels settles back down.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
