The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reginaldo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by cvb.
Reginaldo looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
cvb throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Reginaldo's waist but Reginaldo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing cvb off to one side.
cvb throws a head kick that misses.

cvb darts in and clinches Reginaldo up against the cage.
cvb tries to land knees in the clinch but Reginaldo avoids the damage to the body.
Reginaldo tries to pull guard but cvb holds him up against the cage and eventually Reginaldo drops back down to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
cvb bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Reginaldo's guard.

Reginaldo bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
cvb wants to control but Reginaldo postures up.

Reginaldo stands up and we're back to a striking position.

and cvb counters with a shoot takedown. Reginaldo fights it but they end up in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reginaldo wants to get back to his feet but cvb is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Reginaldo is trying to hold cvb in close to prevent damage but cvb has managed to pass into half guard.
cvb is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Reginaldo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

cvb drops back, looking for a kneebar! Reginaldo looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Reginaldo looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Reginaldo!
