The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch lands to the side of Richardson 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts McMullet, as that shot connected.
McMullet bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Richardson's head backwards.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Richardson forces McMullet back against the cage and clinches.

Richardson gets a trip takedown into half guard.
McMullet is looking to escape.
McMullet wants to get back to full guard.
Richardson looks to land a strike but McMullet avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
McMullet has his hands on Richardson's head, controlling the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A big left from Richardson misses.

McMullet closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
McMullet misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Richardson.
Richardson goes for a takedown attempt but McMullet pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
McMullet scores with a nice right hand.
McMullet tries to close the distance and clinch but Richardson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and McMullet makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

McMullet cracks Richardson with a good jab.
Richardson throws a hook to the side of McMullet's head but McMullet sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McMullet tries to bum rush Richardson with a series of wild strikes but Richardson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Richardson tries to keep at a distance but McMullet has taken the fight into the clinch.
McMullet lands a left hand that snaps the head of Richardson backwards.

Richardson tries for a takedown. No joy.
McMullet lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
McMullet misses with a knee to the head.
McMullet is stalling here.
McMullet pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

McMullet manages to break the clinch.
McMullet stalks Richardson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Richardson's face. Richardson staggers backwards, shaken.
McMullet buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Richardson walks into a straight right hand from McMullet.

McMullet has closed the distance and engaged Richardson in a clinch.

McMullet pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
McMullet lands a nice looking body shot.
Richardson takes one on the chin but seems OK.
McMullet fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
McMullet lands with a right hand.

McMullet lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Richardson backs up against the cage.
McMullet tests Richardson's chin there with a solid looking shot.

McMullet clinches with his opponent.
McMullet pushes off an throws an elbow but Richardson leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
McMullet lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

McMullet breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

McMullet misses with a few strikes there.
Richardson on the wrong end of a nice hook.
McMullet misses with the combination.
A cross from McMullet lands.
McMullet moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
McMullet scores with a jab to the jaw.

McMullet clinches up with Richardson and pushes him back against the cage.
McMullet misses with a knee strike.
McMullet tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
McMullet holding his opponent close, against the cage.
McMullet throws an elbow but it's blocked.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Richardson works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McMullet wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

McMullet looks to land a combination but Richardson avoids it well.
Richardson throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and McMullet counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Richardson throws a hook but McMullet avoids it easily.
Richardson misses with a jab, cross combination.
McMullet getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
McMullet scores with a sloppy right hand. Richardson should have avoided that one.

McMullet rushes Richardson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Richardson takes an elbow to the forehead.
McMullet is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Richardson can do to turn this around?
McMullet lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

McMullet's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
McMullet stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Richardson takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Richardson moves forwards but McMullet connects with a nice, crisp jab.

McMullet lands a left and a right that send Richardson crashing to the mat, dazed. McMullet thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Richardson is rocked!
Richardson is breathing heavily.

McMullet drops Richardson with a big left hand! Richardson is injured, injured bad! McMullet jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
