Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul Paul will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Fedor Emelianenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Paul Paul!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Sano and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emelianenko tries to close the distance and clinch but Paul swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Paul fails with the takedown.

Paul decides to pull guard.
Emelianenko is on the wrong end of a couple of strikes there.

Emelianenko pushes Paul off looking to stand but Paul dives back in and keeps control.
Paul thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Emelianenko's head.
Paul is taking a breather. Emelianenko says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Emelianenko knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Paul on the ground.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Emelianenko tries to kick Paul off but Paul keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Paul content to control rather than advance.
Paul looks gassed!

Paul gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Emelianenko lands a head shot.
Paul shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Emelianenko as he avoids it easily.

Emelianenko wants to control but Paul is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Paul is pressing down on Emelianenko's thigh, looking to free his foot. Emelianenko is holding on for now.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

and Paul holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Paul gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Emelianenko.

Emelianenko wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Paul has him pressed against the cage.

Emelianenko has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Paul avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Paul gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Paul escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Emelianenko gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
