Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kim Kong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Enzo Cordero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kim Kong could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Enzo Cordero's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kim Kong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Enzo Cordero!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Taro Takaoka and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cordero throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kong.
Kim Kong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kong throws a combination that misses
and Cordero counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Cordero fails with a takedown attempt.
Cordero moves out of range of the body kick.

Kong scores a takedown into full mount!
Kong controlling from mount.
Cordero is desperately trying to improve his position but Kong has a good base and remains in mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kong is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Kong is looking to land body kicks.
Cordero misses with a takedown

and Kong counters with a nice double leg into side control. Cordero won't be happy with that.
Cordero is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kong's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Cordero tries to roll over but Kong keeps him under control.
Kong wants to stand but Cordero has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Cordero is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kong pulls his head out easily.

Cordero won't allow Kong to pass to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kong tries to clinch but Cordero is having none of it.
Kong throws a combination that misses
and Cordero counters with a lovely straight right hand!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kong tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cordero swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Kong looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
A right-left combo lands from Cordero.
Kong misses with a combination
and Cordero counters with a three punch combo that has Kong backing up. Kong nods at Cordero to acknowledge the strikes.
Cordero avoids a kick to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cordero doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Kong counters with a left and a right that stings Cordero.
Kim Kong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Enzo Cordero.
Kong swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Cordero counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cordero trying to control the action but Kong is working from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Cordero is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Kong kicks off Cordero and gets to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Enzo Cordero will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Cordero tries to clinch up

and Kong counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Cordero's guard now.

Cordero has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Kong is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Cordero.
Cordero is looking for a sweep.
Cordero is breathing heavily.

Kong has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Kong misses with a combination

and Cordero counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Kong is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kong keeping moving, preventing Cordero from controlling successfully.
Cordero stopping the sweep attempt from Kong.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Cordero drops back looking for a leg! Kong is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kong manages to kick Cordero off! Cordero jumps back into Kong's guard.
Cordero won't allow Kong to sweep him here.
Kong has control of Cordero's left arm, preventing Cordero from doing any damage.
Cordero trying to control the position from guard on top but Kong is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kong throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Cordero counters with a series of strikes. Kong will be more careful next time no doubt.
Cordero swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kong falls off balance throwing a combination
and Cordero counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Kong throws a lazy body kick
and Cordero counters with a one-two to the body.
Cordero shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Kong counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Cordero working for a triangle but Kong defends it easily.

Cordero looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Kong has picked Cordero up and slammed him! Cordero can't keep hold of the triangle and Kong manages to pass to side control!
Kim Kong overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kong is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cordero knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Cordero manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kim Kong dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

and Cordero decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kong's guard.
Kong wants to get back to his feet but Cordero is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cordero got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kong has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cordero has managed to get both his arms back between Kong's legs - danger averted.

Cordero drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cordero jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Kong is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cordero is controlling him.
Kong is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cordero advances position into side control!

Cordero thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Cordero is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Kong looks calm but he's in trouble here. Cordero gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Kong is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Cordero lets go of the hold and Kong can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Enzo Cordero!
