Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Haymaker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Figgy Hoops (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hoops has chosen What Up Man as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Andrew Haymaker has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Andrew Haymaker seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Figgy Hoops!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, John Kavanagh and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoops throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Haymaker has Hoops up against the cage in a clinch.
Hoops controlling the action here for a moment.
Haymaker keeps control of Hoops as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Hoops is looking to control Haymaker's arms but Haymaker gets an underhook and turns him. Now Hoops has his back to the cage.

Haymaker jumps guard and drags Hoops to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Haymaker tries to close the distance and clinch but Hoops swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Haymaker shoots in and drives through. Hoops sprawls well.
Hoops scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Haymaker shoots for a takedown but Hoops saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrew Haymaker. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Hoops counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Haymaker changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hoops tries to avoid it but Haymaker manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hoops to the ground. Hoops escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Figgy Hoops showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Hoops scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

and Hoops counters with a thumping low kick.
Hoops throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Haymaker stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Hoops connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

and Hoops counters with a head kick. That will keep Haymaker thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

That was a close fourth round but I would say that Andrew Haymaker will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.
Hoops's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Hoops feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Figgy Hoops comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hoops has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
