The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stam changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Samara tries to avoid it but Stam manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Samara to the ground. Samara escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Stam shoots for a takedown but Samara saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Stam fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Ramon Samara has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maarten Stam.
Samara misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Stam.
Samara misses with a jab, cross combination.
Stam has a takedown stuffed.
Samara leaves Stam with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Stam fails with the takedown.
Stam bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Stam dives in and grabs Samara's left leg, looking for a takedown. Samara pushes down on Stam's head and hops out.
Nice uppercut there from Samara.

It looks like Maarten Stam has been cut.
Samara lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Stam shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Samara but Samara pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Stam staying out of range there.
Samara thows a body shot but no joy.
Samara throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Stam stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Stam looks gassed!

Samara lands a right hook to the body.
Samara keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
A lazy left from Samara finds it's target.
Samara throws a one two combo.

That has opened up Maarten Stam's cut even more.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Samara sends Stam crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Samara is motioning to the referee to let Stam up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Stam is rocked!
Samara closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Stam out cold! Stam corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
