PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Weatherby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tyson Weatherby!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dan Lee!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Donatello Bradman and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Weatherby or perhaps it was just good defense by Lee which made him look bad.
Lee tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Weatherby paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Weatherby tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lee sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Weatherby somewhat.
Weatherby showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lee.
Lee doesn't manage to clinch there - Weatherby circles away.
Weatherby misses with a takedown attempt - Lee sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyson Weatherby. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Weatherby moves into the clinch.
Lee tries to break the clinch but Weatherby is controlling the position.
Lee is trying to force a seperation but Weatherby has the dominant position.
Weatherby landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Weatherby prevents Lee from breaking the clinch.
Lee wants to break the clinch but can't.
Weatherby tries to score a body lock takedown but Lee shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Lee wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Lee wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Weatherby has him pressed against the cage.

Weatherby breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Weatherby clinches with his opponent.

Weatherby manages to break the clinch.
Lee tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Weatherby showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lee.
Weatherby looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Weatherby is looking to clinch but Lee is avoiding it.
Lee throws a series of punches but Weatherby avoids them all with ease.
Weatherby looks for a takedown but Lee sprawls well.

Weatherby rushes Lee and presses him up against the cage.

Weatherby has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Lee clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Lee is trying to get back to his feet but Weatherby has full control of the position and if anything, Lee has just worked his way into a worse spot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Weatherby controls the position.
Will Weatherby go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Weatherby is persistently looking for the submission but Lee is defending it well.
Lee really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Weatherby. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Weatherby wants to control but Lee is keeping busy.

Weatherby is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Weatherby thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Lee controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
Weatherby is looking to control Lee but Lee is wriggling around and keeping busy.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Weatherby thows a strike but Lee uses the opportunity to reverse the position! Great move by Lee as he ends up in Weatherby 's guard!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyson Weatherby dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Lee tries to clinch
and Weatherby counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Lee is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Weatherby shoots in but Lee avoids the takedown attempt easily.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Weatherby here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Lee looks to clinch

and Weatherby counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lee won't be happy with that.

Weatherby stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Lee stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lee wants it to stay on the feet.
Weatherby circles away from the clinch attempt
and Weatherby counters with a stiff right hand.
Lee tries to clinch but Weatherby moves away
and Weatherby counters with a nice body kick.
Lee falls off balance throwing a combination
and Weatherby counters with a leg kick.
Lee tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Lee fails to land with a series of punches.
Lee takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Weatherby shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lee but Lee pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyson Weatherby. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Weatherby will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Dan Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Nice cross by Lee.

Lee drops Weatherby with a beautiful combination! Weatherby stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Lee is looking for the KO!


Weatherby is rocked!
Lee throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Weatherby.
Oh Weatherby is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lee is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Weatherby hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Dan Lee!
