Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fedja Petrov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Petrov might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Sentenced - Konevitsan Kirkonkellot. Fedja Petrov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petrov pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Petrov tries to clinch but Sanchez is having none of it.

Sanchez drops back looking for a leg! Petrov is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Petrov manages to kick Sanchez off! Sanchez jumps back into Petrov's guard.

Petrov has his foot on Sanchez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sanchez works his way back into a safe position though.
Petrov is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Sanchez is looking for a sweep. Petrov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Sanchez is looking to get back to full guard here but Petrov has managed to pass to side control instead.

Petrov wants to control the pace but Sanchez is squirming around nicely.

Petrov is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Sanchez to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Sanchez shrugs it off.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sanchez tries to get to full guard but Petrov has control of the leg.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Sanchez controls Petrov momentarily but Petrov frees himself.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Petrov drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Sanchez dives on top into guard.
Petrov is trying to control the position but Sanchez postures up.
Sanchez passes Petrov's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Petrov wants to improve his position but Sanchez is controlling well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Petrov doesn't manage to clinch there - Sanchez circles away.
Sanchez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Petrov sprawls well. Petrov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sanchez gets slowly back to his feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Petrov scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Petrov tries to clinch but Sanchez is having none of it.
Sanchez shoots in for a takedown but Petrov shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Petrov lands a left and a right that send Sanchez crashing to the mat, dazed. Petrov thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Sanchez is rocked!

It looks like Alex Sanchez has been cut.

Petrov tries to close the distance and clinch but Sanchez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sanchez seems to have recovered his senses.

Sanchez looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Fedja Petrov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Sanchez.
Sanchez shoots in but Petrov avoids the takedown attempt easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
