And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mathew Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Damien Edna and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ghetto Sloth misses with a series of wild punches.

Johnson clinches up with Ghetto Sloth and pushes him back against the cage.
Ghetto Sloth tries to break free but Johnson pushes him back against the cage.

Johnson jumps guard.
Ghetto Sloth wants to stand but Johnson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Johnson looking for a sweep. Not yet Johnson, not yet.

Johnson scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Johnson forces Ghetto Sloth back against the cage and clinches.
Johnson lands a shoulder strike.
Ghetto Sloth can't break the clinch.
Johnson lands with a left to the head.

Johnson breaks from the clinch.
Ghetto Sloth throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Ghetto Sloth slips under a jab.
Danga de danga de dang - Johnson scores with a four punch combination!

Johnson misses with a body shot.
Ghetto Sloth clobbers Johnson with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Ghetto Sloth lands a glancing blow to the side of Johnson's head.
Ghetto Sloth throws a right hand that Johnson ducks under and follows up with a left that Johnson also avoids with ease.
Ghetto Sloth fails to land with a series of punches.
Johnson throws a body punch but Ghetto Sloth moves out of range.

and Johnson moves into the clinch.
Johnson keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ghetto Sloth's efforts to push away.
Still in the clinch, Johnson scores with a nice short uppercut.
Ghetto Sloth is looking to break free of the clinch but Johnson has double underhooks.

Ghetto Sloth really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Johnson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
I looks like Johnson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Johnson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Ghetto Sloth connects with a nice looking jab.

Ghetto Sloth falls off balance throwing a combination

and Johnson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ghetto Sloth won't be happy with that.
The referee asks Johnson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Johnson prefers to stall for the moment though.
Ghetto Sloth is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Despite being in the dominant position, Mathew Johnson just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ghetto Sloth throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Johnson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ghetto Sloth's guard.

Mathew Johnson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Johnson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
