PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kanaan Rasheem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and ahbula tuhlur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). tuhlur is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Public Enemy:Fight to Power.. ahbula tuhlur has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
tuhlur fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rasheem avoids it really well and circles away.

tuhlur fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rasheem, pushing him back against the cage.
Rasheem tries to score a body lock takedown but tuhlur shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
tuhlur is leaning against Rasheem and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Rasheem shoots in for a takedown but tuhlur shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

tuhlur escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rasheem gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

tuhlur is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Rasheem looking to break tuhlur's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. tuhlur remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Rasheem will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

tuhlur has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rasheem is working away from the top position though.
Rasheem wants to lay and pray for a moment but tuhlur keeps working.

tuhlur really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rasheem. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rasheem is keen to just control but tuhlur is a slippery customer.

Kanaan Rasheem has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of ahbula tuhlur.

Rasheem distracts tuhlur with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Rasheem slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

tuhlur changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rasheem tries to avoid it but tuhlur manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rasheem to the ground. Rasheem escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Nice takedown defense from tuhlur. No joy for Rasheem on that attempt.
