Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Quinton Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and rashad sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). rashad sanchez has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
A head kick from Silva lands but sanchez takes it in his stride.

It looks like rashad sanchez has been cut.
Silva tries a head kick but it misses.

sanchez shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

sanchez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Silva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, sanchez has managed to get both his arms back between Silva's legs - danger averted.

sanchez tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no sanchez has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Silva tries to buck sanchez off but sanchez is having none of it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Silva counters with a nice body kick.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
and sanchez counters by clinching up.

Silva is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. sanchez can't fight it off and eventually Silva manages to take the fight to the floor. sanchez looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Silva wants to get up but he can't break sanchez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
sanchez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Silva is controlling him.

Silva stands up from sanchez's guard - Silva perhaps looking for a knockout.

sanchez shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than sanchez was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Silva tries to lock up and control but sanchez gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because sanchez is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
