Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Robert Frankera! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jongwoo Park! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shirou Masuda and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Park bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Frankera is positioning himself to get back to half guard. The referee asks Park politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Park prefers to stall for the moment though. Frankera manages to work his way to half guard, despite Park's best efforts. Frankera knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Park on the ground. Park seems to be working for a kimura but Frankera defends the submission attempt. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Frankera throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Park shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Frankera defends it nicely. Frankera really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Park closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Park is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Park looks gassed! Frankera is trying to control but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Frankera is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Park looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Frankera flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Park is looking to take a break and control but Frankera is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Frankera is looking to improve his position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Park avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Frankera tries to clinch up but Park circles away and keeps his distance. Park looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Frankera! The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Frankera is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Park sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Frankera bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Frankera is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Park not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Frankera with a flurry of punches that miss. Frankera drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Frankera jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Frankera tries to free his leg and advance position but Park is retaining full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Park is trying to control the position but Frankera postures up. Park has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Park looking for a guillotine here but Frankera defends easily.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Frankera throws a leg kick but Park checks it. Park circles away from the clinch attempt.
Park throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Frankera's waist but Frankera gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Park off to one side. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jongwoo Park dominated that round. That's time! Frankera's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Frankera tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Park paws at him with a jab and circles away. Park closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Park wants to control but Frankera is keeping him busy. Frankera is trying to improve his position. You can see the frustration on Frankera's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Frankera is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Park is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Park is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Frankera has escaped the position, nice work there. Park is breathing heavily.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Frankera keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's one minute gone in the round. Frankera gets a clinch. Park tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Frankera just stands there and leans against the ropes. Frankera has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Park is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Frankera pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Park misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Park fails with a takedown attempt. Robert Frankera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jongwoo Park. Frankera tries for a takedown but Park circles away easily and Park counters with a nice double leg into side control. Frankera won't be happy with that. Frankera is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Park off and has taken his back! Frankera struggling to keep hold of the position.

Park leaves Frankera with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Frankera throws a body kick that misses. Frankera tries to close the distance and clinch up but Park swats him away and circles back towards the center.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Park shoots in but no luck this time. Frankera scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Park avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

No luck for Park with that takedown attempt. Frankera wants to clinch up but Park keeps it at a distance. Frankera shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Park's guard. Frankera is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Frankera wants to control from the top but Park keeps moving. Frankera works a leg free and moves into half guard. Jongwoo Park has got the better of the ground game so far. Park looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Frankera wants to control but Park is keeping him busy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Jongwoo Park will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Park wants to control from the top but Frankera keeps moving. Park is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Park takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Frankera trying to keep a closed guard but Park is proving a slippery customer.

He catches Park napping and manages to drive through into side control! Park sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Frankera wants to free his trapped foot but Park is holding on for dear life with his legs. Park wants to control but Frankera is keeping busy and won't allow it.

And that's the end of the fight! Jongwoo Park comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Park winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
