The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savanis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Savanis lands a head kick. Gracie smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Savanis doesn't manage to clinch there - Gracie circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Gracie looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Savanis drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Gracie is looking to regain half guard here but Savanis keeps moving and retains side control.

Gracie throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Savanis's waist but Savanis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gracie off to one side.

Savanis closes the distance and clinches up with Gracie, looking for a takedown. Savanis pushes Gracie against the cage but Gracie circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Gracie looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Savanis has picked Gracie up and slammed him! Gracie can't keep hold of the triangle and Savanis manages to pass to side control!
