The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
roberto fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Noko avoids it really well and circles away.
Soichi Noko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Noko is looking to clinch but roberto is avoiding it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Noko looks to clinch

and roberto counters with a takedown into side control.

The referee stands the fighters back up. alberto roberto just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Noko fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with roberto, pushing him back against the cage.
Noko lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Noko's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Noko wants to clinch but roberto slips to the side

and roberto counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Noko pulls roberto in to control the position.
Noko wants to sweep here but roberto controlling him for the moment.

Noko takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

roberto looking to sit in guard and control but Noko gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Noko content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because roberto has locked up a guillotine! roberto's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Noko is holding on here and roberto must be using up a lot of energy. Noko has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! roberto gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
