Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Liam Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Leroy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Thompson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Dirtee Love.. Leroy has chosen renegade as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leroy fails with a takedown attempt.
Leroy shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Thompson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

so Leroy counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Leroy trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Leroy wants to stand but Thompson is controlling his posture from full guard.
Leroy trying to control the position from guard on top but Thompson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Leroy shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Thompson is trying to defend but Leroy finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Thompson is looking for a sweep. Leroy is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Well, if Leroy is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Leroy is looking for a kimura but Thompson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Leroy to get the leverage.

Thompson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Leroy pulls his head out easily.

Leroy moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Thompson.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Leroy is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Thompson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Thompson is not content to let Leroy control the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Thompson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Thompson lands in his opponent's guard.

Thompson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Thompson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
