Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Busta Mug (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Abatti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abatti has chosen Cambiera as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Abatti!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Lou da Vinci and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mug throws a right hand that Abatti ducks under and follows up with a left that Abatti also avoids with ease.
Abatti looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mug is defended easily by Abatti.
Mug throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Abatti.
Abatti fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

and Abatti decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mug's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Mug looks to land a combination. Abatti sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Abatti scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Abatti shoots in looking for a takedown. Mug tries to sprawl out of it but Abatti keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mug manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Mug tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Abatti wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Mug takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

John Abatti showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Mug tries to clinch but Abatti is having none of it.
Abatti closes the distance and clinches up with Mug, looking for a takedown. Abatti pushes Mug against the cage but Mug circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Mug on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mug tries to get out of the position.

Mug manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Abatti manages to get himself to full guard.

Mug drops back, looking for a kneebar! Abatti looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Abatti looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Abatti!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Abatti controls Mug momentarily but Mug frees himself.
Abatti lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Mug!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mug is bucking up trying to escape but Abatti cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
John Abatti is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

I would just about give that final round to John Abatti.
I've got Abatti winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
