The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Price.
Price has a takedown stuffed.
Price will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Peter Monson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carrie Price.
Price shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Monson pinned against the cage. Monson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Price misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Monson doesn't manage to clinch there - Price circles away.
Carrie Price seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Monson drives through and clinches with Price against the cage.

Price fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Monson sprawls well initially but Price persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Monson has his hands on Price's head, controlling the position.

Price drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Price jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Monson wants to sweep here but Price controlling him for the moment.

Price thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Monson tries to clinch there but Price circles away.

Price can't get the takedown.
Price drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Monson gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Monson creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Price's defenses.
Monson slowing the pace effectively.

Monson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Monson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Monson wants it to stay on the feet.
Price shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Monson as he avoids it easily.
Price takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Price is trying hard to land a takedown here. Monson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Monson doesn't manage to clinch there - Price circles away.

Price decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Monson wants to get back to full guard.
Monson is working hard here to advance position.

Monson is defending against the submission attempts here by Price.
Monson is looking for a sweep. Price is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Price is looking for a kimura but Monson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Price to get the leverage.

Price has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Monson defend it? Price steps over the head and cranks it - Monson is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Price!
