Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Kingston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeff Kingston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bruce Norris!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping leg kick lands for Norris.
Kingston blocks a head kick by Norris.

Norris closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kingston to the mat! Kingston manages to get full guard.

Kingston has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Norris off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

and Norris counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kingston won't be happy with that.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Kingston is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Norris is controlling him well.
Kingston really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Norris remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Kingston on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kingston tries to get out of the position.

Norris lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kingston circles away quickly and effectively.

Kingston fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Norris sprawls well initially but Kingston persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Jeff Kingston will probably get the nod.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Norris swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Some bone on bone action there as Kingston checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Kingston circles away from the clinch attempt.
Norris tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kingston paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

and Norris counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kingston won't be happy with that.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Despite being in the dominant position, Bruce Norris just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Well Norris has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
