Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jomar Requina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Van Stifler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Requina might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to My Will Be Done by Unearth. Jomar Requina has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jomar Requina!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Paulo Santos and Emerson Jorge.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stifler wants to clinch up but Requina keeps it at a distance.
Stifler misses with a series of wild punches.
Stifler throws a series of punches but Requina moves out of range.
Stifler tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Van Stifler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Requina closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Requina scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Stifler to see if he's OK.
Stifler tries to buck Requina off but Requina is having none of it.
Requina lands a few punches from side control.

Requina tries for a kimura but Stifler is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Requina thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Stifler is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Stifler manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Stifler is staying active underneath Requina, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Requina is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Requina prevents Stifler from improving his position.
Stifler is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Requina is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Stifler is just riding it out for now. Requina eventually gives up the hold.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Stifler tries for a takedown but Requina circles away easily
and Requina counters with a body kick that stops Stifler in his tracks momentarily.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Requina connects with a solid leg kick.
Stifler clinches but Requina breaks the clinch

and Requina decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Stifler's guard.
Requina passes Stifler's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Stifler looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Requina is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Requina prevents Stifler from improving his position.
Stifler regains full guard. Nicely done.
Requina postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Stifler looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Stifler has his foot on Requina's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Requina works his way back into a safe position though.
Stifler manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Stifler has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Requina's face.
Requina is squirming around, avoiding Stifler's attempts to control the action.
Requina takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Stifler breaks from Requina's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Oh Requina is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Requina slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Requina wants to control but Stifler is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Requina seems to have got his legs back now.

Stifler is looking to advance position but Requina won't allow it.

Requina is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Stifler's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Stifler's back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Requina controls the position.
Requina has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Requina looking to break Stifler's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Stifler remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Requina will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
