Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gustavo Spitz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gustavo Spitz will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nathan Scott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gustavo Spitz!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Spitz drives through and clinches with Scott against the cage.
Scott is trying to break free.
Spitz tries to score a body lock takedown but Scott shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Spitz can't get the takedown.
Spitz on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Spitz lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Scott stops a takedown attempt from Spitz.
Nathan Scott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gustavo Spitz.
Scott tries to work over Spitz's body with a swooping hook but it's wide of the mark. Not good footwork there.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Spitz lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Spitz is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Scott drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Scott jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Scott decides to take the fight back to the feet.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Spitz is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Scott's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Scott's back!

Scott wants to improve his position but Spitz is controlling well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Scott counters with a shoot takedown. Spitz fights it but they end up in guard.

Spitz is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Scott had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Spitz is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Scott Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Spitz's back instead.
Spitz is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Can Spitz hold on?! Scott is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Scott is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Scott gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Scott gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Scott apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Scott darts in and clinches Spitz up against the cage.
Scott has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Spitz is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Scott looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Spitz wants to improve his position but Scott is controlling well.
Scott is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Scott winds up and cracks Spitz with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Spitz moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Spitz manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Spitz with a couple of short strikes.
A big strike lands for Spitz! That's really hurt Scott and he's turned his back - Spitz keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Spitz Jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
