Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Patrick Alders and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tyler shoots in looking for a takedown. whittiker tries to sprawl out of it but Tyler keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. whittiker manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
whittiker takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Tyler throws a shot from downtown. whittiker moves away and avoids it.
whittiker throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Tyler on the side of the head.
It looks like Ryan Tyler has been cut.
Tyler closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
whittiker pushes Tyler away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Tyler gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Tyler tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tyler has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
whittiker is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Tyler goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, whittiker has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Tyler but great work by whittiker.

Tyler moves into range and connects with a jab.

whittiker lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Tyler or not.
whittiker throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Tylers head.

whittiker stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Tyler is looking to control whittiker's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Tyler avoid being mounted?
whittiker is nestled in close to Tyler, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
whittiker decides to return to a standing position.
whittiker closes the distance and clinches.
whittiker presses Tyler against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
A frustrated look appears on Tyler's face as he tries to break the clinch.
whittiker gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
whittiker changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Tyler fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Tyler changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. whittiker looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Tyler is trying to control whittiker's posture but whittiker avoids it.

You can see the frustration on Tyler's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tyler prevents whittiker from moving into mount.

Tyler lands with a hook. whittiker tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Tyler shoots for a takedown but whittiker saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Tyler closes the distance and clinches up with whittiker, looking for a takedown. Tyler pushes whittiker against the cage but whittiker circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

whittiker pushes Tyler back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
