Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sebastian Partacz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson shoots in but Partacz avoids the takedown attempt easily.

and Johnson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Partacz!
Partacz trying desperately to get to his feet.

Johnson swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Partacz is now in Johnson's guard. A big mistake from Johnson there, giving up the dominant position!
Johnson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Johnson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Johnson has his foot on Partacz's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Partacz works his way back into a safe position though.
Partacz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Johnson looks gassed!
Partacz is in close to Johnson's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Partacz postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Johnson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Partacz can pounce on him.
Johnson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Partacz.
A head kick from Partacz lands but Johnson takes it in his stride.


It looks like Mike Johnson has been cut.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Partacz dips to his left and cracks Johnson with an uppercut!
Partacz scores with a jab to the head.
Partacz dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Johnson. That did some damage!
Partacz throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Johnson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Partacz connects with a crisp jab.
Johnson tries to clinch up.
Johnson dodges the punch combination from Partacz.
Johnson dives in and grabs Partacz's left leg, looking for a takedown. Partacz pushes down on Johnson's head and hops out.
Partacz lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Sebastian Partacz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Partacz fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Johnson on the side of the head.

and Johnson moves into the clinch.

Partacz tries to pull guard but Johnson holds him up against the cage and eventually Partacz drops back down to his feet.

Johnson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Partacz is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Johnson, into his guard.

Johnson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Johnson throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Partacz escapes and throws Johnson's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Partacz cracks Johnson with a big right hand but Johnson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


No joy there for Partacz, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Johnson takes a kick to the side of the head.
Partacz lands with a straight right. Johnson didn't see that one coming.
Johnson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Partacz wants to stand but Johnson has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Partacz escapes and gets back to his feet.
Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch but Partacz swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Johnson on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Johnson throws a combination. Partacz tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Partacz swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Johnson.
Sebastian Partacz is winning the standup battle so far.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Partacz, as that shot connected.

Johnson drives through with a takedown into guard.

Johnson has gone for a leg lock! Partacz slips out almost immediately though and dives into Johnson's guard.
Partacz postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Partacz wants to stand and escape but instead Johnson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Johnson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Partacz looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Partacz looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Partacz!

Partacz stands up.

Johnson moves into range and clinches up with Partacz.
Partacz prevents the takedown attempt.
Sebastian Partacz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Johnson.

Partacz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Johnson dodges the punch combination from Partacz.
No luck for Johnson with that takedown attempt.

A big left from Partacz misses.
Partacz throws a series of punches but Johnson moves out of range.
Johnson shoots in and drives through. Partacz sprawls well.

A frustrated look appears on Partacz's face as he tries to break the clinch.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Partacz has had enough of the clinch but Johnson keeps him there for the moment.

Johnson drags the fight down to the ground.
Partacz in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Partacz working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Johnson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Partacz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Partacz wants to stand but Johnson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Partacz makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Partacz in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
