Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and River Walken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walken has chosen Flim Star(Suede) as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lucas Martin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, River Walken!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Martin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A punch combination from Martin misses.
Walken takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Walken avoids a punch combination nicely.
Walken looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Martin is fending him off so far but Walken persists. Nope, Martin circles away and we're back to standing.
Some wild striking there from Martin.
Martin misses with a series of wild punches.
The fight stays on the outside here - Walken looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lucas Martin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Martin thows a body shot but no joy.
A head kick from Walken lands but Martin takes it in his stride.


It looks like Lucas Martin has been cut.
Walken swats away the attempt to clinch by Martin.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Martin has his takedown stuffed

and Walken counters with a takedown into side control.
Walken is looking to take a break and control but Martin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Martin struggling a bit here.
Martin tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Walken wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Walken is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Martin's shoulder. That is not cool.
Martin is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Walken is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Walken is working for a guillotine from mount but Martin frees his head quite easily.
Walken manages to capitalize on a mistake by Martin to take his back!
Martin rolls, trying to escape but Walken keeps control of the position.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Walken's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Martin tries to escape but Walken has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Walken trying to control momentarily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Martin trying to control the hands but Walken breaks the grip.
Martin is keeping busy.
Martin trying to control the position but Walken manages to sink in the hooks.
What can Martin do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Despite being in the dominant position, River Walken just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Martin circles away from the clinch attempt
and Martin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
A jab from Martin misses.
Walken shoots for a takedown but Martin saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Martin fails with the takedown
and Walken counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Martin is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Walken shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Walken has control of Martin's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Martin regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Walken is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

River Walken dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Lucas Martin's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Martin closes this distance looking for a takedown but Walken circles away.
Martin swings away with a body shot that misses

and Walken counters with a shoot takedown. Martin fights it but they end up in guard.
Walken trying to control the position from guard on top but Martin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Walken is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Walken decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Lucas Martin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Martin swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Walken makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Martin really felt that one!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Walken fails with the takedown
and Martin counters with a straight right hand.
Martin throws a hook but Walken blocks it.
Walken slips a jab and a cross from Martin.
Martin looks to land a combination but Walken avoids it well.
Martin throws an overhand right that lands on Walken's shoulder, as Walken tries to avoid the shot.
Martin leaves Walken with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Nice straight punches there by Walken. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Walken.
Walken fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Martin.

Walken gets the takedown into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here as Walken stalls from top position.
Martin tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Walken wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Walken moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Walken stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Walken scores with a takedown into Martin's guard.

Walken seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Walken's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Martin wants to sweep but no luck.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

River Walken showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Walken gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Martin counters with a takedown into side control.
Martin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Walken on the ground.
Walken is trying to control Martin's posture but Martin avoids it.
Martin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Walken keeps working.
Walken holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.
Martin is trying to ground and pound but Walken uses the momentary lack of control by Martin to regain half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Walken has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Martin is working away from the top position though.

Despite being in the dominant position, River Walken just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Martin misses the body punch
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Walken moves into range and clinches up with Martin.
Martin stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Martin is trying to trip Walken. He has hold of a leg but Walken is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Martin persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Martin prevents Walken from getting back to his feet.

Martin gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Martin tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Walken counters with a head kick.
A slow jab from Martin misses its intended target.
Walken misses with a body shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Martin tries to close the distance and clinch but Walken swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Walken forces Martin back against the cage and clinches.
A hook to the body from Martin.
Martin working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Martin tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Walken tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Walken tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Martin avoids it.

Walken breaks from the clinch.

Walken drives through with a takedown into guard.

Walken wants to control from the top but Martin keeps moving.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Walken decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Martin, up you get!
Martin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Walken gets the takedown into side control.
Walken takes a little break here. Martin wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Walken trying to control the action but Martin is working from the bottom.
Martin prevents Walken from moving into mount.
Lucas Martin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
River Walken is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Martin tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Walken wants to lay and pray for a moment but Martin keeps working.
Martin manages to work his way to half guard, despite Walken's best efforts.
Martin is trying to get back to full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lucas Martin.
Well Walken has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
