Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Dog with that takedown attempt.
Dog avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Dog shoots in and bounces Santini off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.
Dog stops Santini from standing up.

Dog thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Dog stands up and waves to Santini to follow him.

Dog wants to control from the top but Santini keeps moving.
Santini is looking to stand up but Dog isn't so interested in that idea.

Dog feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Santini knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dog on the ground.
Santini wants to stand and escape but Dog is having none of it.

Dog drops back looking for a leg! Santini is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Santini manages to kick Dog off! Dog jumps back into Santini's guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Dog prevents Santini from getting back to his feet.
Santini can't keep his opponent in guard - Dog advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Dog is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Santini sees it coming and defends easily.

Dog looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Santini on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Santini tries to get out of the position.

Dog stops Santini from getting back to his feet.

Santini pushes Dog off looking to stand but Dog dives back in and keeps control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Dog shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Dog was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Dog won't let Santini get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
A nice elbow there by Dog.
Santini's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Dog scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Santini?

Dog with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Dog looking to ground and pound but Santini is blocking nicely.

Dog is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Santini has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Dog moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Santini has worked his arm free - good work by Santini!

Dog tries to move to mount but Santini blocks the move with his legs.

The referee warns Santini that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Santini is trying to get to the ropes to help him get back to his feet.
BOOM! Dog connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Dog takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Dog just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Dog is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Santini is defending well though. Dog let's go of the attempt for now.

Dog is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Santini defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Dog has got one arm under Santini's chin. This could be trouble... Santini trying to control the other hand but Dog gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Santini has tapped out! The fight is over!
