Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Randy Savage! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Paulo Gracie! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Paul Tew and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Savage tries a head kick but it misses.
Savage throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Savage looks for a takedown but Gracie sprawls well. Savage takes one on the chin but seems OK.
A swing and a miss from Gracie. Gracie throws a lazy head kick and Savage counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Savage. Gracie not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gracie looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Gracie throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Gracie looking for a guillotine here but Savage defends easily.
Savage throwing strikes but missing. Savage stopping the sweep attempt from Gracie.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Gracie wants to sweep but no luck. Savage has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Gracie had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Savage defends it easily. Savage with a nice head shot there. Savage trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom. Savage avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Savage keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gracie's head. Savage really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Gracie had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Savage defends it easily. Savage trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Savage would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Gracie is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Gracie wants to sweep here but Savage controlling him for the moment. Gracie pushes a forearm under Savage's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Savage is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
