PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Judge Dred (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary The Hitman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dred's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, No Easy Way Out. The Hitman has chosen Jay Z - Run This Town as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Judge Dred!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Gary The Hitman!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, John Roberts and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Hitman wants to clinch.
The Hitman avoids the head kick by Dred.
An inside leg kick lands from Dred.
Dred moves out of range of the body kick.
The Hitman looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
The Hitman tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Dred is able to avoid easily.
The Hitman misses with a head kick.
The Hitman scores with a kick to the body.
The Hitman pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Dred fakes a jab and throws a low kick but The Hitman checks it well.
Dred throws a sloppy head kick and The Hitman moves out of range easily.
The Hitman throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Dred lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.


It looks like Gary The Hitman has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dred tests The Hitman's chin there with a solid looking shot.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The Hitman tries to clinch but Dred moves out of range.
Dred is looking to score with low kicks.
The Hitman just misses with a punch to the body.

Excellent takedown into side control there by The Hitman.
The Hitman looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Dred is avoiding damage well.

The Hitman is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dred is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The Hitman with the ground and pound but Dred regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
The Hitman is looking to stall here but Dred recovers full guard.

Dred is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Dred can't break the clinch.
Dred is trying to force a seperation but The Hitman has the dominant position.
Dred blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Dred is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
The Hitman has Dred pressed against the cage, preventing Dred from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Dred.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. The Hitman obliges.
The Hitman swings wildly with an uppercut but Dred uses good head movement to avoid it.
Dred tries to break the clinch but The Hitman is controlling the position.
Dred is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Dred blocks a punch to the side of the head.
The Hitman crunches a lovely knee into Dred's ribcage.
The Hitman tries for a takedown but Dred manages to get underhooks.
The Hitman landing some nice looking knees to the body.

The Hitman misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Dred.
Dred wants to get back to striking at distance but The Hitman won't allow it.
The Hitman jumps guard but Dred stands there with The Hitman around his waist. The Hitman gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
The Hitman unloads a knee to the mid-section. Dred lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Dred tries to break free but The Hitman pushes him back against the cage.
Dred has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
The Hitman tries to pull guard but Dred holds him up against the cage and eventually The Hitman drops back down to his feet.
Judge Dred has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gary The Hitman.
The Hitman with an attempt at a knee that misses.
The Hitman crunches a lovely knee into Dred's ribcage.
Dred on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
A frustrated look appears on Dred's face as he tries to break the clinch.
The Hitman lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Dred looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
The Hitman looking to throw knees to the head but Dred is blocking nicely.
The Hitman tries to land knees in the clinch but Dred avoids the damage to the body.
Dred can't break the clinch.
The Hitman lands a nice knee to the body.

The Hitman jumps into guard, dragging Dred to the mat.
The Hitman manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dred manages to get himself to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The Hitman missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Dred wants to stand and escape but The Hitman is having none of it.
The Hitman trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Dred keeping moving, preventing The Hitman from controlling successfully.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dred is on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Dred got a little sloppy there for a moment and The Hitman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dred has managed to get both his arms back between The Hitman's legs - danger averted.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Gary The Hitman will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Gary The Hitman's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



The Hitman closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
The Hitman is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
The Hitman tries to land knees in the clinch but Dred avoids the damage to the body.
Dred has had enough of the clinch but The Hitman keeps him there for the moment.
Dred blocks an uppercut.
The Hitman misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Dred.
Dred avoids the elbow strike from The Hitman, against the cage.
The Hitman is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Dred is defending well for now.
The Hitman tries to land knees in the clinch but Dred avoids the damage to the body.

Dred blocks an uppercut.
Dred is looking to break free of the clinch but The Hitman has double underhooks.

Dred pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Dred lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and The Hitman has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from The Hitman and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
The Hitman tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Dred stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dred wants it to stay on the feet.
Dred takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

The Hitman is looking to land body kicks.
Dred connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between The Hitman's hands.

The Hitman closes the distance and clinches.
Dred wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Dred is trying to break free.
The Hitman lands a good knee to the midsection. Dred won't want to take too many of those.
The Hitman tries to throw a body punch but Dred avoids it by throwing The Hitman back against the cage.

Dred breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Dred misses with a looping right.
The Hitman misses with a kick to the body.
The Hitman misses with a body kick.
A nice inside leg kick there by The Hitman. That's going to slow Dred down.

The Hitman shoots in but Dred avoids the takedown attempt easily.

and The Hitman counters with a thumping low kick.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from The Hitman. Dred shrugs it off though.
Dred circles away from the clinch attempt.
The Hitman throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Dred misses with a wild body shot.
Dred bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of The Hitman's head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The Hitman looks for the body kick but Dred saw that one coming.
The Hitman fakes the leg kick and cracks Dred in the body.
Judge Dred is winning the standup battle so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The Hitman shoots for a takedown but Dred saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Judge Dred has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gary The Hitman.
Dred throws a lazy right hand but The Hitman sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
The Hitman misses with a body kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The Hitman throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
The Hitman scores with a leg kick.
The Hitman buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
The Hitman lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

The Hitman closes the distance and pushes Dred back into the cage.
Dred gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from The Hitman.
The Hitman misses with a hook from the clinch.
Dred is trying to break the clinch but The Hitman has him pressed against the cage.
The Hitman lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Dred backwards.
Dred prevents a body shot from The Hitman.
Dred blocks the elbow strike.
The Hitman throws a head punch that misses.
The Hitman goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
The Hitman tries to work over Dred's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Dred.

Dred is fighting off a takedown attempt but The Hitman is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Dred to the mat. Dred regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

The Hitman drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Dred manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now The Hitman has Dred in his guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dred trying to control the position from guard on top but The Hitman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The Hitman has his foot on Dred's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dred works his way back into a safe position though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Dred decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
The Hitman fails in his attempt to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gary The Hitman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Gary The Hitman's cut.
That's time! Dred's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

The Hitman slips under a jab.
Dred wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
The Hitman avoids a punch combination nicely.
The Hitman throws a leg kick
and Dred counters with a nice low kick that buckles The Hitman's knee momentarily.
The Hitman lands a nice looking body kick.
Dred tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Dred looks to score with a jab to the body but The Hitman is just out of range.
The Hitman will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Gary The Hitman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The Hitman shoots for a takedown but Dred saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
The Hitman throws a quick inside leg kick.
Dred throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

A slapping leg kick lands for The Hitman.
Dred loads up on a big right hand but The Hitman slips the punch.

The Hitman closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Dred on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dred tries to get out of the position.
The Hitman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dred keeps working.
Dred looks like he's trying to stand up.

The Hitman seems to be working for a kimura but Dred defends the submission attempt.
Dred looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The Hitman is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dred defends it well.
The Hitman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dred keeps working.

The Hitman is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
The Hitman goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

The Hitman displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dred throws out the jab.

Dred fails to land with a series of punches.
The Hitman throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Dred counters with a lovely shot to the body.
A bone on bone clash there as The Hitman blocks the leg kick.
The Hitman tried to score with a low kick but Dred checks it.
The Hitman takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
The Hitman avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Dred throws a good cross that connects.
The Hitman throws the kick towards the body but Dred avoids it.
Dred avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Dred lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

and The Hitman takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Judge Dred is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The Hitman is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
The Hitman throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Dred moves into range and connects with a jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from The Hitman.
Dred stalks The Hitman and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into The Hitman's face. The Hitman staggers backwards, shaken.
Dred is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from The Hitman.
Judge Dred has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dred lands a jab to the nose.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The Hitman tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dred paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Dred checks the leg kick.

And that's the end of the fight!
Judge Dred showed his dominance in that final round.
I think The Hitman has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
